Teachers in many other states are able to retire (often with full benefits) after 25 or 30 years of service. Pennsylvania teachers cannot.


Many professionals within the state system are able to retire (often with full benefits) after 25 or 30 years of service. Pennsylvania teachers cannot.

Pennsylvania teachers need to help one another. Pennsylvania teachers need to be given the same benefits as other state employees are given.

Help to make sure that teachers receive the state benefits for which they have worked so diligently and deserve.
NOTIFY YOUR CONGRESSMAN TODAY
We have attached a letter that you can copy and paste that you can send (via email or USPS) to state legislators (we recommend that you send a letter to as many legislators as possible--in or out of your district).


This is the only way that a change can be made. We can no longer wait for our local education associations and PSEA to get this done. They need the help of every teacher in Pennsylvania.		 NOTIFY THE MEMBERS OF THE PA. EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Use the same letter to send to the members of the education committee. We need the support of these people to get a 30 & out bill passed as well. These members especially need to know that the teachers of this state want help in receiving the benefits offered to other state employees.

IS THERE REALLY A CHANCE?
Some people employed by PSERS have stated that the votes are available in the senate and house to pass a 30 & out bill if that bill is presented on the floor and brought before the legislators for a vote.

Let's remind all of those decision-makers involved that we are worthy and do deserve the same benefits as other state employees.

WE ARE EDUCATING THE STUDENTS WHO WILL BECOME THE DECISION-MAKERS OF THE FUTURE--what teachers do is important and worthy of receiving comparable benefits as any other state employee.
